Consultative Committees :-


In line with the provisions of the co-operative societies act and in accordance with the approved Bye-laws of the Bank, the Bank had formulated the policy of electing representatives from amongst its members in the Branch General Body Meetings. The representatives so elected among Members of a particular Branch will formulate into Consultative committee of that branch. The primary eligibility criteria for any committee member is, he / she should avail the services of the Bank either by obtaining loans from the Bank or by investing monies by way of deposit in the Bank as specified in the Bye-law.

The principle behind the formation of such committees is to encourage democratic member participation and to propagate the principles of co-operation amongst the members of the Bank thus forming Quality Circles which help to deliberate, review, to give suitable suggestions and to draw strategies for the development of the Branch in the areas like deposits, loans and collection of over dues etc., in line with the targets fixed for that particular branch for the respective financial year and also to chalk out annual future business plan of the Branch. The Committee is also empowered to review and recommend for suitable remedial action to the Bank over NPAs and also to review the customer service complaints of the Branch.

The strength of the Committee shall be based on the number of share holders, the total Share Capital of the Branch and the location of that particular Branch subjective to a maximum of 50 per branch. Each year 1/5th of the consultative committee members will retire and a similar number are to be re-elected and the existing members who are retired during the year are also eligible for re-election. The Committee members shall attend to at least 2 meetings(50% of total meetings conducted during the financial year) for not attracting the provision for disqualification as Committee member in a year.

The members of the Consultative Committee Members of the various branches will constitute the General body of the Bank.

The Consultative Committee shall meet at least once in 3 months in a calendar year. The concerned Director to whom the branch is allotted will be the Chairman of the Committee and the Branch Manager of the respective Branch is the convener of the Committee.
